I spent much of my life going where the work, the Army, or circumstance sent me: Alaska, the Middle East, Europe, Bosnia, the Gulf Coast, dredges, construction sites, military assignments, hospital rooms, and more places than I ever expected to call home for a little while.
That realization became the heart of my writing. My memoir looks back at the people and moments that shaped my life—the funny ones, the painful ones, the people who disappeared too soon, and the ones who showed up exactly when I needed them.

About the author
Ted Marsh is an Army veteran, safety professional, father, and grandfather. In The People I Saw, he shares the friendships, hard lessons, humor, and moments of recognition that shaped his life. His story honors the people he met along the way—and the lasting difference they made.
He served in the United States Army, worked around the country and overseas, built a career in safety, traveled through more places than he can easily remember, and met people he will never forget. His path has included military assignments in Alaska, Europe, the Middle East, and Bosnia, followed by years in construction, maritime operations, dredging, and occupational safety.
His writing draws from military service, travel, friendships, family, near disasters, unexpected victories, and a lifelong curiosity about history, folklore, and things that cannot always be neatly explained.
